Hunter/Killer AI Robot Program Moves Forward
Engineers from Duke University and the University of New Mexico have reached a critical milestone in their development of “smart” AI robots. Code Named: Marco Polo, this DARPA project seeks to develop Hunter/Killer robots capable of target acquisition, tracking, and ultimately destruction with the addition of existing weapons platforms.
The Hunter/Killer bots have seen tremendous success as UAV’s and UGV (unmanned air and ground vehicles) however these deployed models require human control.
This advancement in project Macro Polo represents one more step towards the Singularity, when machines will possess the ability to think and become self-aware.
